New Product Evaluation Program

Get a product evaluation for your new inventionDo you have an idea? Just starting?  If “yes” read on…

Have you ever said to yourself…

  • “I have several ideas but I just don’t know what to do next?”
  • “My mother and best friend love my invention, and I know it is a million dollar idea, but how can I get someone else’s professional opinion?”
  • “I have an invention that I have been working on but I am stuck …how do I proceed?”
  • “As I have looked at trying to get my invention to market there are so many people offering promises, who can I trust?”
  • “Provisional, utility, & design patents, trademarks, copyrights, and non-disclosure agreements are confusing. What do I need?”
  • “Prototypes, molds, safety regulations, EDI, overseas production, warehousing…what do I need to know?” “What questions should I be asking?”
  • “Is this invention worth the time and money it will cost to develop?”
  • I just want to sell my idea to another company. Is that possible and how do I do that?”

If you have answered "yes" to any of these questions above and you are ready to do something about it, there are some basic questions you must answer before investing substantial effort and money in getting your product to market.

Those critical questions include:

  • Does my product already exist?
  • Does my invention infringe on existing patents?
  • Is my idea patentable? If so, what kind of patent makes sense? (Provisional, Utility, Design)
  • What questions or concerns will a prospective licensee (manufacturer) have about my invention?

These are both legal and business questions you must ask yourself. You are capable of answering most of these questions yourself and I have explained how in my book, The Mom Inventors Handbook. However, to make this step simple so you can make important decisions and get on to the business of turning your idea into a reality, we have created this product evaluation program.

Consider these facts

  • The vast majority of inventions never get issued a patent from the US Patent office
  • Depending on complexity, the cost of everything involved with securing a utility patent can run upwards of $5,000, $10,000, $20,000…….
  • Only 1% to 2% of patented inventions ever make any money, and fewer earn back the cost of the patent
  • Many products on the market fail, even when launched by otherwise successful product companies

Why this program? You don’t have to be one of the above statistics!

Usually the only thing that gets in our way is a lack of information and resources. Now with our help, there is nothing holding you back!

Included in the program, you will receive

  • A patent search and qualified legal opinion provided by the same patent firm who handles all my intellectual property matters, West & Associates, A PC. From this you will know if or how your invention may infringe on existing patents and if it is likely patentable.*
  • A review of this opinion by my team for its implications as to the viability of the product.
  • A careful review by my team as to your product’s manufacturability and marketability.
  • Consideration by my team for licensing as a Mom Invented® product.
  • Descriptions of options and suggested resources and next action steps.
  • A 30 minute telephone consultation with Tamara Monosoff

Option 1 - Product Evaluation and Patent Search: $549
Option 2 - Product Evaluation Only** (does not include patent search): $299

**Must already have a patent or results plus opinion from a professional patent search

A Note from Mom Invented®: We are not an invention promotion company, we do not market inventions to other companies, and make no representation that we do. This program is designed to share information, a patentability opinion, review the product for licensing with Mom Invented® and to offer professional business guidance.

* Requires completion of the online patent search form. Limited to 2 hours patent search time and 20-minute consultation regarding results. At a minimum, patent searching takes 2 – 3 days. Most patent searches can be conducted within one week. Once the search is complete, a patent attorney from West & Associates, A PC (1255 Treat Blvd, 3rd Floor, Walnut Creek, CA 94598, Fax: (925) 944-9598, PatentSearch@westpatentlaw.com) will contact you and review the findings with you.

While we will make every effort to locate references that may be pertinent to patentability and infringement, please understand that this is preliminary search based on two hours of searching. Moreover, please understand that at the time the search is made, some pending patent applications may not be searchable or viewable to us.

Finally, please understand that NO PATENT ATTORNEY can provide you with a definitive opinion regarding patentability, as only the United States Patent and Trademark Office examiners can do so after conducting a complete patent examination following the filing of a full Utility Patent Application. However, please trust that we will make every effort to provide you with as complete a search and as accurate a recommendation as possible.
