Introducing… Mentors, Authors & Coaches Corner…
My own business journey continues to evolve, and as it does I meet extraordinary people along the way. I would like to share these people and their gifts with you. This is why I’ve created something new on MomInvented.com -- a section called Mentors, Authors & Coaches Corner. This section will be dedicated to introducing you to people that offer unique tools, inside information, and ways of thinking that will directly influence the way you do business.
To kick this off, it is my pleasure to introduce you to my new friend Bob Burg, Best-Selling co-author of The Go-Giver and Endless Referrals. We all understand the importance of selling. In his important book, The Go-Giver, Bob has shifted my entire approach to sales and marketing. He frames the sales process in terms of creating value, not by trying to forcefully persuade someone to buy your product or service. He believes that the amount of money one makes is directly proportional to how many people they serve.

I LOVE LOVE LOVE The Go-Giver Book ! My friend Lara Galloway told me to read it. I bought it, I read it, I read it again, and I LOVE it! It is a must-have read that sits on my desktop. This is prime real estate for only the BEST books. (This is saying a lot from me as I read 10-15 books a week). I have printed out a great .pdf that @BobBurg tweeted me - of The Five Laws of Stratospheric Success from The Go-Giver Book. This printout is to the right of my laptop on my wall that I read every single day.
This book will change how you think about business and how you do business. I recently had a scenario that I could not fulfill an order for a client deadline. I immediately emailed them that there was no way I could complete the order they just sent me that night with a 24 hour turnaround time for a custom rhinestone shirt because I was out of town for 48 hours. So, I referred them to my biggest competitor that I knew could get it done in the exact style and color and quality. I have never done that before & goes against my assertive business nature. But you know what? It felt good to put my customer's needs first and they really appreciated it.
I so look forward to hearing Bob Burg speak tomorow. It is perfectly during my super energetic toddler's naptime tomorrow. Please baby nap & stay asleep - otherwise Baby Jon Jon will be on my lap learning about Go-Givers Selling More and my mute button will be on !
